Thank you for your interest in advertising in Lifestyle Costa Rica Magazine, the official publication of Los Sueños Resort and Marina.

Over 2,000 copies of our magazine are distributed weekly through our displays and brochure racks at the Juan Santamaría International Airport, as well as the CANATUR (Chamber of Tourism) and ICT (Ministry of Tourism) stands. Lifestyle Costa Rica is an official “in-room” magazine at all three Marriott hotels in Costa Rica and can also be found at finer venues throughout the country, major private banks, restaurants and boutiques. We regularly distribute the magazine to over 120 tourism-oriented businesses in the San Jose metropolitan area and over 100 additional venues outside of the Central Valley. Lifestyle Costa Rica is hand-delivered to all boaters and guests at the Los Sueños Marina as well as all Los Sueños homeowners. International distribution includes North American boat shows; prestigious fundraising events; golf and fishing tournaments; and real estate and tourism exhibitions.

The next edition of Lifestyle Costa Rica is currently scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2008, with an initial run of 40,000 copies. Forma Basica will manage the production and design in conjunction with the Los Sueños Marketing Department.

Given the high quality of production and distribution of Lifestyle Costa Rica Magazine, a number of companies have indicated their interest in entering into long-term advertising contracts. As an added bonus to those advertisers who enter into a multiple edition contract you will received a free link to your company’s website from our Lifestyle Costa Rica website www.lifestylecr.com.

Placement is assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please contact us as soon as possible to request a contract and reserve your page.

Artwork must be sent to Ashley Bretecher, Managing Editor, on CD, Negative or Zip, in workable format for Macintosh. All photos must be scanned at 300 dpi or higher to maintain the image quality of our publication. We will gladly provide design services to our advertisers for a nominal fee.

Circulation and Distribution


Lifestyle Costa Rica is published annually, with a print run of 40,000 copies per edition. The following are the principal means of distribution:

National Distribution:

• Through the five displays with brochure racks that Los Sueños Resort and Marina has leased in the Juan Santamaría and Liberia International Airports, both in the arrivals (baggage claim) and departure (main concourse) areas. In addition,
CANATUR (Chamber of Tourism) and ICT (Ministry of Tourism) distribute copies from their respective stands in the arrivals area. In other words, Lifestyle is the first publication that visitors receive when they enter the country and the last when they leave. At this time, we are distributing over 2,500 copies of the magazine per week at the airport.

• Through three displays, two at the baggage claim and one at customs, with brochure racks at the Daniel Oduber international airport in Liberia, Guanacaste.

• Through the three Marriott hotels in Costa Rica. Lifestyle Costa Rica magazine is available in every room at each Marriott (Escazú, San Antonio de Belén, Los Sueños), and according to reports received from the hotel management, many guests take the copies from the rooms when they leave the hotel. We distribute approximately over 2,000 copies per month via the Marriott chain.

• Through the companies that advertise in the magazine. We currently distribute over 1,500 per month via sponsoring banks, law offices, restaurants, boutiques and tourism agencies.

• In restaurants and tourism-oriented businesses (car rental agencies, hotels, etc.) in the most visited zones of the country, such as Quepos/Manuel Antonio, Jacó, San José, Alajuela, Arenal/La Fortuna and Guanacaste: over 3,000 per quarter.

• Through homeowners and marina users at Los Sueños: 3,000 per quarter. We have found that yacht owners have been taking copies to countries such as Mexico, the United States and the Caribbean nations, to share them with fellow boaters in other marinas that they visit. Los Sueños homeowners (who are among the wealthiest in Costa Rica) request extra copies to share with friends and family, both within Costa Rica and abroad, and many receive shipments of large quanties to display at their businesses in the United States.

International Distribution:

• Through exhibitions, fairs and special events, such as:
o Fort Lauderdale Boat Show
o Miami Boat Show
o World Billfish Series (60 tournaments)

• Since May 2002, PROCOMER (Costa Rican export agency) is taking copies of Lifestyle Costa Rica to all of the trade shows that they attend because they consider it to be the best tourism magazine in Costa Rica.

• Through direct mailing to those people who solicit information on our resort via our website or through our advertisements in prestigious magazines such as:
Texas Monthly, Continental, Delta SKY, American Way, Power and Motoryacht, Billfishing, In the Bite and others.

• Through North American businesses affiliated with our marina: Johnson and Towers (New Jersey), HMY Yacht Brokers (Ft. Lauderdale), Anglers Supply (Newport Beach), Viking Yachts (New Jersey) and Cabo Yachts (California and Florida).

• Through prestigious real estate agencies in California: Paladin Realty Partners, Braemar Homes, Paragon Homes.
